The candidate applying for studies on the programme should be familiar with the knowledge, skills and the social competences necessary to undertake graduate studies, especially:

  • practical musical skills in playing an instrument or singing, music arrangements or production;
  • general knowledge of music and sound in video games, movies, media and multimedia;
  • knowledge of English (B2 level at least).

MA in Games and Virtual Reality Design, specialisation: Sound in Games

The main aim of the programme is to develop a Master’s degree graduate prepared to conduct independent operations in the field of video games and virtual reality designing. With the knowledge and skills desired in the labour market the graduate will get the possibility to work in the rapidly expanding interactive entertainment and video game market, as well as in advertising agencies and cultural institutions. Graduate’s broad competence will grant him a range of possibilities in his future professional activity.

The syllabus of the specialization Sound in Games focuses on practice and prepares the graduate to work as a sound engineer in the area of video game production. The specialization Sound in Games is addressed to students interested in creating music and shaping soundscapes. The programme prepares specialists in the area of composing and arranging, digital recording methods, music processing, voice recording and processing, MIDI devices and programs, as well as sound postproduction in video games. The programme offers also theoretical courses, providing knowledge in theory and history of music and its connections with other media. The graduate will be able to make use of gained experience on the post of a sound producer in video games.
