Jaroslaw Gowin was appointed head of the Ministry of Science

Jarosław Gowin on Monday took over as head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, replacing Lena Kolarska-Bobińska. "I will try to continue all valuable initiatives" - announced the new minister.

On Monday, by President Andrzej Duda appointed Jarosław Gowin as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education in Beata Szydło’s government.

Academic career offices becoming more active

In Poland, there are 340 academic career offices at 428 universities. More than half of them have no more than one full-time employee, and still they more and actively help graduates - according to the Graduate Ombudsman report.

Representatives of science pleased with the budget

Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz met with representatives of academia. "We were satisfied with the government's budget proposals for the budget of science and higher education for 2016" - commented the President of CRASP, Prof. Wiesław Banyś.
