Description:
It is a four-semester program designed to help students build fundamental skills essential to the conference interpreter’s job. In the first semester students take courses in interpreting strategies, note-taking for interpreters, public speaking and translation/interpreting as a profession and are also introduced to the basics of conference interpreting. Starting from the second semester students take practical courses in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and they also take a course on EU institutions. Dutch taught from scratch is an added value to the programme – upon programme completion students have an opportunity to apply for a job with the European Institutions. Courses are taught by professional interpreters with extensive experience. After four semesters, students have a unique skill set with which they can confidently enter the job market.
